Eric Ryan is the senior director of military operations, Office of Military and Veterans Affairs at University of Phoenix, where he leads the office in identifying strategies to best serve military and veteran students and family members. Ryan served in the U.S. Marine Corps March 2000 to March 2005, eventually in the occupational specialty of helicopter crew chief, earning the rank of E-5 Sergeant. During a six-month deployment to Iraq in 2003, he flew on helicopter missions to evacuate fallen servicemembers. Ryan serves on the task force led by Give An Hour to develop strategies with other employers to increase understanding of unique veteran strengths and needs as well as enhance civilian workforce transitions.
