Welcome back to America’s leading higher education podcast! In this very special BONUS release of The EdUp Experience Podcast, we are honored to speak with Selwyn Jones, the uncle of George Floyd and social justice activist.  In this conversation, Selwyn discusses the murder of his nephew including how his family witnessed the murder and why it was/is/needs to be a significant moment for social justice in America.  Selwyn working to eliminate qualified immunity - but he discusses what is really important for black people in America as the charge for equity continues.  "No matter what the outcome is, this will never be over.  It will never be over (Selwyn Jones)".

As George Floyd’s murder ignited the largest civil rights protest in US history, Selwyn  Jones became an activist. Every day Selwyn commits to ending police brutality and systemic racism and bringing justice to his nephew’s senseless and cruel murder.  Known affectionately as Uncle Selwyn Jones he promised “I will not let his death be in vain. I do not want my sons or anyone else to go through what my nephew endured for that 8 minutes 46 seconds. I want to be a beacon of light for those who face racism or adversity in this life.”
