We welcome YOU back to America's leading higher education podcast, The EdUp Experience!

It’s YOUR time to #EdUp

In this episode, President Series #140, YOUR guest is Dr. Rick Muma, President of Wichita State University, YOUR host is Dr. Joe Sallustio, & YOUR sponsor is The Charles Koch Foundation!!

Rick talks about why Wichita State University is the ONLY university in the state of Kansas that is growing.  WSU was smart and they integrated/acquired the Wichita Area Technical College system to create the "GED to Ph.D." student path.  To fill the need of employers in the region, students need to be trained with real-world experiences and the acquisition of WATC allows for that.  Rick has one huge piece of advice for all leaders - keep your message simple and consistent.

Rick lives in Wichita with his spouse, Rick Case. Case is the retired district director for the Farm Service Agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. They have two adult sons Drew & Collin & a daughter-in-law, Abi.

Muma & Case are members of the WSU Foundation’s Society of 1895. In 2011, they established Richard D. Muma & Rick A. Case Equality Scholarship in 2011 for students members of Spectrum: LGBTQ & Allies, a WSU student organization.

Thank YOU so much for tuning in. Join us on the next episode for YOUR time to EdUp!
